Ratio

Ratios help us compare quantities and understand how they relate. We use ratios to adjust recipes, compare prices, interpret maps, and make informed decisions in everyday life. Build confidence with equivalent ratios, unit rates, part-part-whole relationships, and rate comparisons. Enter an answer, then press the "Return" key or click "Check answer."

How the levels work

Equivalent

  • Level 1: Decide whether two ratios are equivalent. Enter yes or no.
  • Level 2: Find a missing whole number in an equivalent-ratio equation using a whole-number or simple fractional scale factor.
  • Level 3: Solve a short real-world equivalent-ratio problem with a whole-number answer.

Unit Rate

  • Level 1: Use a given unit rate and quantity to find a total.
  • Level 2: Use a quantity and total to find the amount for one item.
  • Level 3: Use whole-number quantities and unit rates that may include one decimal place to find a total.

Part-Part-Whole

  • Level 1: Use a small two-part ratio and total to find one group.
  • Level 2: Solve a real-world two-part ratio problem using the same approachable number ranges as Level 1.
  • Level 3: Use a three-part ratio whose parts total 12, 20, 30, 40, or 50, then find one specified group from a total of 150 or fewer items.

Compare Rates

  • Level 1: Compare small quantities using simple whole-number unit rates.
  • Level 2: Compare larger quantities using whole-number unit rates up to 12.
  • Level 3: Compare rates that may include one decimal place. Choose A, B, or Same.
